OAKLAND, Calif. -- Blake Griffin buried bank shots, turnaround jumpers and spinning layups. DeAndre Jordan gobbled up rebounds and opposing shots, often flexing his muscles and letting out a roar. The high-flying finishers who spawned the nickname "Lob City" are doing far more than dunking in the playoffs. The frontcourt tandem has carried the Clippers to a 2-1 lead in their first-round series against the Golden State Warriors, who have found no answer for either with centre Andrew Bogut out with a fractured right rib. "Just two animals out there just beastin right now," Clippers guard Darren Collison said. And both are finally performing in places they havent always flourished -- on defence, in the playoffs and at the most pivotal points of games. Since losing Game 1 in Los Angeles, Griffin has dominated David Lee and every other defender the Warriors have thrown his way. And Jordan -- who tied a franchise playoff record with 22 rebounds and five blocks in the Clippers 98-96 win in Game 3 on Thursday night -- has been the kind of rim protector coach Doc Rivers had long believed he could become. The two big men, both just 25 years old, have caused so much disruption that Warriors coach Mark Jackson said Friday hes considering changing his starting lineup for Game 4 on Sunday. The most likely swap would insert Draymond Green at power forward and push Lee to centre for Jermaine ONeal in a smaller, quicker lineup. "Weve got to figure out a way to present some resistance. I think things are going a little too smoothly for Blake," Jackson said during a light shootaround at Golden States downtown Oakland headquarters. Griffin has scored 32 and 35 points the past two games, respectively. Hes shooting 64 per cent from the floor in the series and has been at his best in the biggest spots. The All-Star power forward made five straight baskets -- three bank shots, a mid-range jumper and a short turnaround -- against Lee to open the third quarter in Game 3, part of a run that put the Clippers ahead by 18 points. "Just continuing to believe," Griffin said, speaking to reporters at the teams downtown San Francisco hotel Friday. "My teammates give me the confidence to go out there and shoot every time Im open." Lee promised hed be better against Griffin in Game 4. He has mostly been tasked with guarding Griffin by himself, though Jackson hinted more double-teams might be on the horizon. "Hes playing at a high level right now," Jackson said. "We forced him to be a jump shooter, and hes making jump shots. On the block, hes aggressive. Hes having an outstanding series capping off an outstanding year." While Griffins star has shined brightest, Jordan has been the insult-to-injury figure. The Warriors tried to lure Jordan away from Los Angeles in the summer of 2011, signing him to a four-year, $43 million offer sheet as a restricted free agent. Instead, the Clippers matched the deal. Now the Warriors -- who waived Jeremy Lin and amnestied Charlie Bell to make room for the offer -- can only watch Jordan make a major difference on defence while Bogut -- acquired in a trade with Milwaukee in March 2012 to be Golden States franchise centre -- sits out with another injury. Three years ago, though, Jordans game was not nearly what it is now. Jordan fell out of favour at times under former coach Vinny Del Negro, who was let go after the Clippers lost to the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round of last years playoffs. Jordans rising game speaks to the Clippers commitment on defence under Rivers, who challenged the young centre to focus on rebounding and protecting the rim this season. Jordan finished third in voting for the NBAs defensive player of the year award behind winner Joakim Noah of Chicago and runner-up Roy Hibbert of Indiana. "These guys really rely on me a lot defensively, and when Im out there, they have all the confidence in the world in me," Jordan said. "So its definitely a huge step for me in my career, but at the same time, its always something to build on and its more motivation for me. As long as Im my teams defensive MVP, thats all that matters to me." Carlos Tevez and Paul Pogba gave Juventus a 2-0 halftime lead but Rossi struck back with goals in the 66th, 76th and 80th and Spanish forward Joaquin added his first Serie A strike in the 78th. "Its difficult to score against Juve and even more diffiult to score four times," Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella said. "Coming against a historic rival, this was a marvelous and splendid Sunday." Rossi has eight goals through eight rounds. The United States-born forward was recently called back into Italys national team after two years of injuries and three surgeries. "The goals were great but we really reacted well as a squad in the second half," Rossi said. "We showed a lot of courage and a lot of heart. We can play with anyone." Rossis father, Fernando, died in 2010. "Rossi has had two tough years both family-wise and injury-wise," Fiorentina captain Manuel Pasqual said. "He deserved a day like this." After its first loss, Juventus remained tied with Napoli five points behind Roma, which beat Napoli 2-0 Friday to extend its winning start to eight matches. Promoted Hellas Verona is fifth after beating Parma 3-2 with a goal from Fabrizio Cacciatore and two penalties from Jorginho -- one earned by former Italy forward Luca Toni. Fiorentina is tied for fifth with Inter Milan, which drew 3-3 at Torino with only 10 men in its first match since an announced takeover of the club by a group of Indonesian entrepreneurs. Fiorentina is sixth. In other matches, it was: Atalanta 2, Lazio 1; Genoa 2, Chievo Verona 1; Livorno 1, Sampdoria 2; Sassuolo 2, Bologna 1. Fiorentina had not beaten Juventus at home since December, 1998, when Gabriel Batistuta was the clubs key scorer. "For our fans, its as if we won a trophy today," Pasqual said. Juventus, meanwhile, doesnt have much time to regroup, with a match at Real Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday. "The match was closed," Juventus coach Antonio Conte said. "Then something unthinkable happened. We lost a match that we were dominating. But thats football. ... We need to learn something from this.dddddddddddd." In Florence, it was all Juventus until Mati Fernandez was fouled by Kwadwo Asamoah to set up a penalty for Rossi in the 66th. Ten minutes later, Rossi appeared to surprise Gianluigi Buffon with a shot from beyond the area that the Juventus and Italy goalkeeper should have stopped. Joaquin was then left all alone inside the area to make it 3-2 and Rossi rounded out a career performance by finishing off a counterattack with Juan Cuadrado. In the 85th, Rossi exited to a well-earned standing ovation. It was quite a turnaround from the first half. Juventus playmaker Andrea Pirlo hit the crossbar in the 14th and the visitors took control when Tevez was fouled by Gonzalo Rodriguez at the edge of the area to set up a penalty for the Argentina forward in the 37th Pogba doubled Juves lead three minutes later by volleying in after Cuadrados clearing attempt went straight up into the air. In Turin, Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic was sent off for tripping Alessio Cerci five minutes in but reserve goalkeeper Juan Pablo Carrizo came on and blocked Cercis penalty. Swedish midfielder Alexander Farnerud gave Torino the lead in the 21st and Fredy Guarin responded for Inter in first-half added time with a spectacular bicycle kick following a corner. Ciro Immobile restored Torinos lead in the 53rd but Rodrigo Palacio replied two minutes later with a header at the edge of the box after goalkeeper Daniele Padelli failed to punch away a cross. Palacio scored again to give Inter a 3-2 lead in the 71st by tapping in a cross from Ishak Belfodil for his fifth of the season but Torino midfielder Nicola Bellomo equalized with a long, curling free kick into the far, top corner in the 90th for his first career goal in Serie A. Earlier in Bergamo, midfielder Luca Cigarini scored one goal and set up another as Atalanta won its third straight. Cigarini put the hosts ahead in the 41st with a long, low shot then provided the through ball for German Denis winner in the 84th. Lazios 20-year-old Colombian forward Brayan Perea had equalized in the 53rd with his first Italian league goal. Denis dedicated his goal to his mother with a specially prepared T-shirt, since it was Mothers Day in his home country of Argentina.
