GREEN BAY, Wis. - Aaron Rodgers makes tough throws that can leave fans of the Green Bay Packers speechless. It is best to stay quiet when it comes to perhaps the most impressive statistic from the quarterbacks MVP-caliber season.Going into Monday nights game at Lambeau Field against the Atlanta Falcons, Rodgers has thrown 360 straight passes at home without an interception. The stretch includes 31 consecutive touchdown passes at Lambeau without a pick. Both are NFL records. Thats two years without an interception in Titletown for Rodgers. Now please stop talking about this.I dont know, I just dont like throwing the ball to the opponent, Rodgers said when asked why he has played at an exceptionally high level at home. The topic doesnt come up in the quarterbacks room. This sounds like the football equivalent to a pitcher in baseball being ignored while trying to toss a no-hitter.Hes on a good streak right now, position coach Alex Van Pelt said. Well just keep rolling with that.Just like how the Packers have rolled to a 6-0 record at Lambeau this season. Rodgers has thrown 20 touchdown passes to no picks in 182 attempts at home. His home quarterback rating of 134.4 is 30 points higher than his rating on the road — which would be an impressive enough rating alone.Compare that to Atlantas Matt Ryan, who has a respectable 93.7 quarterback rating overall. For Ryan, Rodgers run is worth watching.Ive always in the off-season taken a look at what theyve done and how hes played. He certainly does as good a job if not better than anybody at extending plays and making things happen after things break down, Ryan said. Hes been doing that his entire career. These last two years, especially, have been exceptional.Rodgers last interception at Lambeau came Dec. 2, 2012. With 6:03 left in the third quarter of a 24-13 win over Minnesota, Rodgers pass on second-and-6 from the Packers 44 intended for Greg Jennings was picked off by safety Harrison Smith.Fittingly, Rodgers was 6 of 6 the rest of the game after the interception. Hes gone 12 straight games at Lambeau since without an interception, having been limited to just four regular-season home games in 2013 because of a collarbone injury. The streak is cited in the teams game notes. Its been talked about on Twitter and mentioned on game broadcasts and highlight shows. But two locker stalls away from Rodgers, backup quarterback Matt Flynn also said the streak isnt conversation material on the team.Of course, it helps any quarterback to play at home, where an offence typically doesnt have to deal with crowd noise. There is the added benefit of being familiar with the surroundings, and playing without having to travel. The schedule has also had the Packers playing in tough environments on the road. This season, Rodgers had an interception in Seattle in the opener off a deflection. He threw two picks at New Orleans.Who knows what would happen if we were (at home) playing those teams. Cant say, Flynn said. Theres definitely comfort with this offence to run it without a ton of crowd noise ... I dont have a good answer, I guess. On Monday, it is Atlantas turn to try to solve Rodgers. The Falcons, while statistically the worst defence in the NFL, have 14 interceptions.Defensive co-ordinator Mike Nolan said watching Rodgers reminds him of the way the Packers previous starting quarterback, Brett Favre, used to make plays on the fly.At no time is he not in a position to really make a throw. Obviously he still has the natural ability, but I dont see that prototypical, mechanical look. He plays ball to win, Nolan said. Favre was a tremendously exciting player to watch because of all those things. (Rodgers) is every bit as exciting.Rodgers doesnt take quite the gambles that Favre would take deep. But it doesnt mean Rodgers doesnt take risks. On one play against New England, Rodgers rolled right and sent what seemed like a dangerous pass at just the right time down the right sideline for a 28-yard completion to running back James Starks.Thats definitely a risky throw, but the (defender) had his back turned, Van Pelt said. Rodgers is doing a great job of making good decisions.___AP Sports Writer Charles Odum and Associated Press writer George Henry in Flowery Branch, Georgia contributed to this story.___AP NFL websites: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP_NFLJaVale McGee Jersey .com) - Guess whos back, back again? NEW YORK -- The Anaheim Ducks took nothing for granted on the last day of their longest road trip of the season. They didnt sit back and put the New York Rangers into an early hole they never got out of. Frederik Andersen made 32 saves to stay perfect in four NHL games, and Corey Perry and Kyle Palmieri scored first-period goals to lead the Ducks to a 2-1 victory over the Rangers on Monday night. "To play in Madison Square Garden is something special. I love New York," Andersen said. "There are so many great things to do here, and I guess another one is to win a hockey game." The Ducks finished a season-high, eight-game road trip 5-2-1 -- including 5-0-1 in the final six games. Perry and Palmieri staked Anaheim to a 2-0 lead just 9:09 in, and the 24-year-old Andersen did the rest. "He was huge, kept us in it all night," Palmieri said. "We were able to get those two goals, and he made it stand up. Hes been awesome. Tonight was no different." In four NHL games, all this season, Andersen is 4-0. He has allowed a total of five goals, and only defenceman Michael Del Zotto got a puck past him. "We dug deep for this one," Perry said. "Last one on a road trip is always the toughest one, and we earned it. Were ready to get home." Ryan McDonagh pressed for the tying goal with 6:00 remaining in the game, and was twice denied on hard shots. Benoit Pouliot then had an in-close backhander stopped with 5:17 left, but drew a penalty. The Rangers received their third power play with 3:26 remaining, but that advantage was cut short when Pouliot took New Yorks first penalty of the game. Another came moments later for too many men on the ice. That killed any chance of a comeback. "Sometimes goalies have to come through," Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau said. "We started playing like we didnt want to lose instead of going after them, which I think we did for most of the third period. Thats when you need your goalie to come up big." Henrik Lundqvist stopped 23 shots for the Rangers, who had a three-game winning streak snapped and dropped to 2-1 on a homestand that ends Wednesday against Pittsburgh. "It was definitely not the way we wanted to start off this game," Lundqvist said. "They showed why they are a good team. They make yoou pay when things like that happen early.dddddddddddd "We couldve easily had at least a point today." Andersen preserved his shutout -- albeit briefly -- when he made a stellar save of a hard one-timer from the slot by Brad Richards with 1:44 remaining in the second after Richards took a feed from behind the net from Carl Hagelin. The Rangers kept the heat on the Ducks, who were forced to ice the puck. New York regained control on the ensuing faceoff and cut the deficit to 2-1 with 1:24 left. Rangers captain Ryan Callahan put the puck on net, and Hagelin whacked at the rebound. With Andersen sprawled on his stomach, Del Zotto scored his first of the season from the lower edge of the circle. That sparked the crowd, and the fans were still cheering when McDonagh twice knocked Perry over the short boards and into the New York bench. McDonagh kept him doubled over the second time, and Rangers coach Alain Vigneault kept an arm around Derek Dorsett to prevent him from taking any shots at Perry as the period ended. In the first, the Ducks picked up where they left off against the Rangers when they sent New York to a 6-0 drubbing on Oct. 10 at Anaheim. "They are a good team and they showed why they are in the high echelons of the NHL," Vigneault said. "They dont give you a lot. "I dont look at it as we lost (6-0) and then we found a way to lose 2-1 tonight. We needed to be better in certain areas." Anaheim grabbed the lead 1:29 in when Perry scored his ninth. Dustin Penner sent a shot in that was stopped by Lundqvist, but no one picked up Perry in front, and he scored with his second whack at the rebound. The Ducks doubled their lead 6:40 later with help from the Rangers. Richards cleared the puck out, but he put it right on the stick of Francois Beauchemin in the neutral zone. Beauchemin skated the puck back in and found Palmieri in the high slot for a shot that beat Lundqvist. "This is a game of mistakes and making your opponent pay when they make mistakes," Vigneault said.
